How much of this consumption comes from over-dosing is shown on the tab. For accurate dosing, see the gravimetric dosing systems.
These calculations produce guide values; the final selection has to be based on the part geometry, the mold design and the data from the material manufacturer. For an assessment specific to your application, contact our technical support team.
The hourly consumption is the amount of material processed multiplied by the additive ratio in the recipe. In injection molding the amount processed comes from the shot weight and the cycle; in extrusion it comes directly from the line output.
Besides stock planning, this value also determines the choice of dosing unit: the dosing capacity has to cover peak consumption, yet an oversized unit loses accuracy at low ratios. How much of that consumption is unnecessary is shown on the Masterbatch Saving tab.
The method, the formula and the limits of each tool are explained directly underneath it, and the explanation changes with the tab you select. The results are engineering guide values; for an assessment specific to your application when choosing the final machine and equipment, contact our technical team.
