The Trexel NC-Series Nitrogen Booster is the central compressor that supplies supercritical nitrogen (SCF) for the MuCell® process. A single booster feeds several Satellite dosing units in the same plant, making multi-machine MuCell applications possible at low cost.
It can run on a bottled nitrogen, nitrogen generator or liquid nitrogen source; redundancy can be set up with a second booster. The NC-250 (215 l/min) and NC-500 (500 l/min) models are selected according to the dosing requirement and the number of machines.
The NC-500 is the high-capacity model of the series: 500 l/min capacity, 10.2 kW power at maximum pressure and a weight of 350 kg. Its body size (1480 × 830 × 1520 mm) and operating pressure (300–330 bar, max. 365 bar) are the same as the NC-250; the difference is capacity. It is chosen for plants where many Satellite dosing units are fed at the same time or where more machines are planned.
