DC series volumetric dosing units are used to add masterbatch, additives and regrind to the main raw material. The unit has a speed-controlled industrial motor; thanks to this, a single device covers a wide range of dosing capacities.
Two sizes
The DC-18 offers a capacity of up to 16 kg/h for a single component and comes as standard with a 7 liter stainless dosing hopper. The DC-38 goes up to 70 kg/h for a single component, and its standard hopper is 15 liters.
Dosing screw
The screws are hardened stainless. The modular system combines ion-nitrided screws with high wear resistance with a powerful geared motor; in this way dosing can be adapted to different materials and capacities.
For dosing regrind there are special dosing screws. The granule size and bulk density of regrind differ from those of virgin granulate; a standard screw may not run smoothly with this material.
Operation
The operator only enters the shot weight; the device shows the additive ratio as a percentage. Dosing recipes can be stored, so product or batch changes are faster.
The empty weight of the unit is low and it is installed directly above the feed zone of the processing machine. Standard mounting flanges make installation easier.
The regrind loop
The unit is often part of a beside-the-press recycling loop: an auxiliary granulator granulates the sprue, conveying equipment brings the regrind back, and the dosing unit mixes it into the main raw material. This material obtained after processing is called post-industrial recyclate, and when it is granulated properly its quality is good enough to be used in technical part production.
