PVC Series

The PVC series is a series equipped with a screw and corrosion measures specifically for processing rigid PVC. From the drop-down list on this page you can reach all the models between 130 and 650 Tons.

What sets the series apart

PVC is a corrosive material that can release hydrochloric acid during processing. A standard screw and barrel corrode quickly in this environment. In the PVC series the screw geometry is designed to produce low shear, and the contacting surfaces are chosen from corrosion-resistant material. The screw speed is also kept deliberately low (0–200 rpm, 0–130 rpm on the large models).

Construction profile fittings, pipe fittings, electrical installation components and technical parts requiring rigid PVC.

Choosing a model in this series

With PVC the screw speed is kept deliberately low (0–200 rpm, 0–130 rpm on the large models) because high shear heat degrades the material. This means that the plasticizing capacity is lower than that of standard machines of the same tonnage; this limit must be taken into account when choosing a model. If you will be processing a raw material other than PVC, there is no need for corrosion-resistant equipment and it raises the cost unnecessarily. What is more, moving to another material later on a machine that has processed PVC can be problematic because of residues and corrosion.
