What makes the claw pump different

Side channel blowers are simple and economical; they meet a medium vacuum requirement. Claw pumps, on the other hand, run oil-free, produce a higher vacuum and are better suited to continuous operation. Being oil-free removes the risk of oil vapor mixing into the raw material, which makes them the preferred choice in food and medical applications.

Determining the capacity

The pump capacity is calculated from the number of loaders that will run at the same time and the total length of the line. The most frequent mistake is to add up the capacity of all the loaders and choose an unnecessarily large pump; a realistic simultaneity ratio is determined by looking at the production pattern.

Filter maintenance is critical

Dust entering the vacuum line creates wear and a loss of efficiency if it reaches the pump. The filter holds that dust back; but a clogged filter also means a drop in capacity. This is the most frequently neglected and most frequently misdiagnosed maintenance item in central systems — the symptom usually shows up as "the machine at the far end of the line is not being fed".
