The inverter series is a family of air-cooled modular chillers with inverter (variable-frequency) scroll compressors. A fixed-speed compressor either runs at full load or stops; an inverter compressor adjusts its speed to demand. As a result, the leaving water temperature stays more stable and energy consumption drops markedly at part load.
Chillers spend most of the year below full load. That is why their efficiency is better shown by the IPLV (integrated part load value) than by the full-load coefficient. In this series the IPLV is 4.30 for the PSV models and 4.50 for the PLV models.

As heat pumps, the PLV models can also heat in very cold outdoor conditions (down to −26 °C). If only process cooling is needed, the main difference between PSV and PLV is efficiency and capacity.

Nominal cooling test conditions (manufacturer's catalog): water flow 0.172 m³/(h·kW), leaving water 7 °C, ambient 35 °C.
