The RDM Micro is a compressed air dryer designed for very small material consumption. It is suitable for production that uses up to 1,000 grams of material per hour; the hopper size ranges from 0.5 to 3 liters.
Why a separate micro dryer?
For production drawing a few hundred grams per hour, material sits for hours, even days, in the hopper of a large dryer. Long residence leads to over-drying and discoloration in some materials. In micro injection molding applications the hopper must be as small as the consumption requires.
How does it work?
The RDM Micro takes its drying air from the plant's compressed air line; this air has already been dried in the line. The dew point of the air falls as its pressure is reduced, and it is then heated and sent to the micro hopper. The process air is not regenerated, and the dew point is constant and low.
Installation and use
- It is installed directly on top of the production machine; the process chain is not interrupted.
- Installation is simple and it is commissioned on a plug-and-play basis.
- The air volume is adjusted flexibly.
- A conveying option can be used with the adjustable material level sensor.
- Maintenance and energy requirements are low.
