What the two-platen design delivers

The distinguishing feature of the TP series is its two-platen clamping design. In toggle systems the mechanism takes up room at the back of the machine; in the two-platen design that section does not exist. The result is a shorter machine length for the same mold size and a wider opening stroke.

With large and deep molds this difference is decisive: the opening stroke needed for the part to come out of the mold requires a far bigger frame on a toggle machine.

Choosing a model within the series

From the drop-down list you can reach the models between 600 and 4,000 Tons. The choice is again made in two steps: the tonnage is determined from the projected area of the part, and the injection unit from the shot weight. In this tonnage class the mold weight and dimensions must also be checked — the maximum mold height, the tie bar distance and the maximum mold weight are given in the table.

If you are below 600 tons

Platen parallelism

The hydraulic locking system designed by Italian engineers maintains the parallelism between the mold faces even at high tonnage. A parallelism deviation shows up on large molds as flash along one edge of the parting line and a short shot along the other.
