Our portfolio covers all hose qualities for the most diverse areas of application. In the bulk material / plastics industry, material is mostly conveyed from point A to point B with PUR or PVC hoses; of the two, PUR hose is preferred more often.
All the hoses needed for the plastics industry are available from stock at Michel Tube. Suitable hose clamps (Schlauchschelle) complete the portfolio.
Available in 3 different executions (Ausführung): medium heavy (mittelschwer), heavy (schwer), super heavy (superschwer). Material options: Polyurethane (PUR) and PVC. Available in 17 different diameters (Ø 30.0 – Ø 115.0 mm).
Why hose, and not tube
Fixed lines are built with tube; but at the points where the line has to move, hose is mandatory. The connection from the coupling station to the machine, suction from an octabin or container, and lines rerouted at a machine change are examples.
The difference between PUR and PVC
PUR (polyurethane) hose is markedly more resistant to wear than PVC. On conveying lines where the granulate rubs constantly, this difference is felt directly as service life; with abrasive raw material a PVC hose thins out and wears through in a short time. PVC, on the other hand, is more economical and remains sufficient in applications with a low wear load.
Why antistatic matters
As the granulate advances inside the hose it generates static electricity through friction. When the charge is not discharged, two problems arise: dust sticks to the hose wall and narrows the flow over time, and a risk of sparks arises. In environments with a dust explosion risk, the use of antistatic, groundable hose is mandatory; connecting the spiral wire to the grounding is essential for this protection.
Not to be confused with the vacuum side
On the vacuum line the hose must not collapse; this is a different requirement and is met by vacuum hoses.
