Glass elbows are one of the most effective wear protection solutions in the plastics industry. For decades they have been used successfully for conveying polyamide (PA) and glass reinforced plastics (GF); they reduce wear, and the downtime that comes with it, dramatically.
A 5 mm wall thickness is standard on Michel Tube glass elbows, and uniform hardness along the whole body is ensured. The inside diameter of the elbows is designed to be exactly aligned with the stainless steel tubes connected to the line — no step forms and the material flow stays smooth.
There is a copper strip on the outer surface; this provides electrical conductivity (static discharge) when glass and stainless steel tubes are connected with special couplings.
