TEMP-XXL 300 OIL TS is the mold temperature control unit with the highest temperature capability in the range and works in the 300 °C band. From the drop-down list you can reach the standard and EXTRA versions.
When is this temperature needed
300 °C is a requirement met when processing high performance engineering plastics. With these materials the mold temperature determines not only the surface quality but also the crystallinity and dimensional stability; working below the target temperature directly lowers the mechanical properties of the part.
What the XXL body means
The largest body class; it offers high heater power, a high pump flow and a large tank volume. Because applications working at this temperature are usually done with large molds of high thermal mass, the capacity requirement rises in parallel.
Maintenance and safety are critical
At 300 °C oil oxidation speeds up markedly; the oil change interval is shorter than for systems working at lower temperatures, and when it is neglected heat transfer deteriorates and the system cannot reach the target temperature. The sealing elements are chosen from special material for this temperature.
Because of the fire risk, the connection points, hoses and insulation must be on the periodic checklist. No flammable material should be kept around the unit.
For lower temperature needs the 200 °C series, and up to 160 °C the water-based systems, are more economical.
