Blue Air DMS Mold Dehumidification Unit

The DMS (Dry Mould System) is a dehumidification unit that prevents mold sweating by creating a dry climate around the mold. It is used for a single production machine on injection molding and blow molding machines; standard units deliver 500 to 5,000 Nm³/h of process air.

How does it work?

The process air circulates inside the DMS in a closed circuit. When the unit is running, the warm, moist air in the mold area flows to the DMS. The DMS removes the moisture from the air with a special cooling unit, without using cooling water. The dry air is fed back into the mold area and the circuit is closed.

The cooling circuit works with PWM technology; power consumption is adjusted automatically to demand. No pre-cooler is needed. The manufacturer states that energy consumption falls as low as 0.0007 kW/m³.

What does it gain?

According to Blue Air, with the DMS production can run free of condensation all year round, in every climate, even when the mold cooling temperature is brought down to as low as 6 °C. Because the mold water can be kept cold, the cooling time shortens and machine output increases. Production conditions stay the same regardless of the season.

Scope of delivery

The scope of delivery includes the dehumidification unit and, on request, a custom-built enclosure for the mold area of the production machine. The enclosure uses sliding covers or easily removable panels; so mold changes remain quick. Maintenance requirements are low.
