The limit of collecting by hand over a large area

In warehouses, construction sites and large workshops, collecting bolts, nails, wire and swarf scattered on the floor by hand or with a handheld magnet takes hours. A wheeled sweeper machine does the same job at walking pace; the operator scans a wide strip without bending down.

Releasing the collected metal

The practical value of these machines lies in the discharge mechanism. On permanent magnet models a lever switches off the magnetic field and all the collected metal drops into a bin in one movement. Because the field is permanent, no electricity is needed during collection.

Working width, wheel type (outdoor or indoor floor), the discharge mechanism and whether the magnet height is adjustable are the decisive criteria. For small areas and spot cleaning a handheld magnetic sweeper is sufficient.
