// About the Product

Product Description and Technical Details

A conical (bullet) deflector placed inside the pipe directs the product onto the magnet surface. It is suitable for pneumatic conveying and free-flow pipelines.

A shape designed for pneumatic lines

The bullet magnet takes its name from its bullet-like cone shape. This geometry is no coincidence: in a pneumatic conveying line the material travels with the air at high speed, and a flat obstacle both interrupts the flow and creates wear. The cone shape divides the flow gently to the sides, keeps the pressure loss to a minimum and passes the material along the magnet surface.

The advantage of the central position

The bullet is placed in the middle of the pipe cross-section. Because in a pneumatic line the material usually travels close to the pipe wall, a magnet in the center comes into contact with most of the flow. Thanks to this, the capture rate stays high across the cross-section.

Where it is used

Central raw material feeding lines, silo discharge lines, pneumatic filling systems. In plastics processing it is often used as the last protection point before the machine on the central feeding line.

Points to watch

  • Pressure loss — must always be taken into account in the line design
  • Wear — with glass-fiber or abrasive filled material the body must be wear resistant
  • Cleaning access — because the line is pressurized, cleaning requires a stop; the position of the access cover should be planned at installation

Installation note

The bullet magnet is positioned in the middle of the line cross-section, facing the direction of flow. Mounting it the wrong way round cancels the advantage of the cone geometry and increases the pressure loss. The position of the access cover for cleaning should be planned at the installation stage, because the line is pressurized.
