A sack emptying station is the orderly way to transfer a granulate sack into the processing line. It is entirely stainless, so there is no risk of contamination on the surfaces in contact with the granulate.
Emptying by hand has two problems: physical strain and dust. When a sack is lifted and cut open above an open bin, some of the granulate spills out and dust gets into the air. At the station the sack is placed on top of the wide filling grid, cut open there, and the granulate drops straight into the hopper.
Gas-spring lid
The lid is gas-spring assisted: it opens with one hand, stays up by itself in the open position and closes slowly when released. When emptying is finished the lid is closed and the hopper is sealed; the material is protected from moisture and dust.
Two sizes
The SAS-230 offers a volume of 230 liters on a footprint of 850 × 598 mm and is on casters (2 swivel, 2 fixed), so it can be used as a mobile unit. The SAS-380 goes up to 380 liters on a footprint of 1020 × 1020 mm. On the SAS-380 the total height with the lid open reaches approximately 1939 mm; this dimension must be taken into account when planning the ceiling height.
Connecting to the line
On both sizes, one or more suction ports of 40 or 50 mm diameter are fitted to the granulate outlet. With this port the station is connected to the central feeding line and the material from the sack is conveyed straight to the machine.
