Digicolor MASHER Feeding System

MASHER is an automatic feeding system installed in the hopper of the granulator. It is added as an option to the Goliath Plus and Titan Plus models.

With bulky parts the problem is this: the part is thrown into the hopper but does not drop into the cutting chamber under its own weight, and bridges at the mouth. The operator has to push the part in by hand; this is both a loss of time and a safety risk.

MASHER solves this. In the hopper there are special feed blades on one or two additional shafts. These blades grip the bulky part, pre-shred it and push it into the cutting chamber.

Change of rotation direction

The system works by changing its direction of rotation. If a part jams, the shaft turns in the reverse direction to free the part, then feeds again. In this way feeding into the cutting chamber stays continuous and safe.

Control

The operation of MASHER is managed by a programmable control. The control monitors the load on the granulator; when the machine is strained, the feeding is adjusted accordingly and operational safety is maintained.

What it gains

Bulky reject parts can be granulated beside the injection molding machine without handling them. The labor spent carrying the parts, stockpiling them and granulating them somewhere else disappears.
