GRAVIMIX FGB5-13 is the master model of the central blending (batch blender) series. From the drop-down list you can reach the FGB5 models with different numbers of components and configurations.
FGB5 is the step where the dosing logic changes. Machine-mounted units dose material directly into the machine hopper; a batch blender, on the other hand, first prepares a batch of blend, weighs it and then feeds it. This design is intended for larger batch weights and higher capacities — the FGB5 band goes up to the level of 1,100 kg/h.
Because the batch is mixed after it has been weighed, blend homogeneity is more stable than with machine-mounted dosing. Consumption reporting can also be kept per batch; how much material each recipe used goes directly on record.
In plants with frequent color changes the cleaning time is a cost item independent of the technical specifications of the unit. A hopper design that can be removed without tools shortens that time; the subject is covered in the color and material change article.
For higher capacity the FGB10 and FGB25, and for lower capacity the machine-mounted series, should be considered.
