The MAG 14000 folding magnet is a permanent magnet that can be retrofitted; it can be fitted at any point on a tube without extra work and prevents material contamination and machine stoppages.
Once fixed around the tube, the MAG 14000 is ready for use. It needs no external energy source. The working principle is simple: with installation a magnetic tunnel is formed; this tunnel can be enlarged by adding further magnets.
The special feature of the MAG 14000 is that the ferritic particles do not stick directly to the magnet (which makes cleaning difficult), but instead stick to the inner surface of the tube. When the magnet is folded open during a conveying pause or at regular maintenance intervals, the magnetism disappears and the ferritic contaminants can be cleaned out at suitable points.
For this reason we recommend that installation is always done together with a hose, a hose coupling or a suction lance; because at these points there is a low conveying speed and an easy discharge point.
In principle the MAG 14000 is far more flexible and user-friendly than grate bar magnets, which are mounted in hard-to-reach places and are more laborious to clean. Its price/performance ratio is also extremely good.
