Suction Lance Connection

In practice, waste bins (Mülltonnen) in which plastic granulate is stored are widely used. Waste bins are economical, on wheels and with a lid. For certain use cases waste bins are quite a sensible option; but they also have disadvantages in terms of electrical grounding (static discharge).

To be able to turn waste bins into material containers, we offer suction lance connection ports (Sauglanzenstutzen) in various diameters. These connection ports can be fitted to waste bins afterwards, on site; they are durable and reusable.

Available in 3 different diameters (Ø 72.0 / 84.0 / 97.0 mm) and 3 different angles (30° / 45° / 90°).

From waste bin to material container

In practice, waste bins on wheels are frequently used for storing plastic granulate. Because they are economical, mobile and have a lid, they are a practical solution. But a standard bin has no ready opening for suction; when the hose is simply dangled inside, the suction becomes irregular and the lid does not close fully.

What the connection port provides

The connection port turns the bin into a proper material container: the suction lance passes through a fixed point, the lid stays closed and the air inlet is controlled. This prevents both dusting and moisture uptake, and increases the stability of the suction.

Why it matters

In a container whose lid stays open, hygroscopic raw material quickly draws moisture back. If PA or PC granulate that has come out of the dryer waits in an open bin, the drying is largely wasted. The subject is explained in detail on the material drying page.

Its limits

The waste bin solution makes sense for production with low consumption and frequent material changes. With high consumption and continuously running lines, an octabin and lid arrangement or direct central feeding is more suitable.
