The distinguishing feature of the Drywell central drying system is that it is modular. The system is installed for the plant's current needs; when needs grow it is quickly added to, and when they shrink a drying capacity can be split off from the system and used as an auxiliary dryer.
This is a different approach from a conventional central drying installation. In a conventional system the capacity is fixed from the outset; when production changes, you run either with surplus capacity or with insufficient capacity. In the modular concept the capacity follows production.
No long, hot pipeline
The well-known weakness of central drying is that the dried hot air is carried to the machine through long pipes; both energy and temperature are lost on the way. With the Drywell central system no long, hot dry air piping is needed, which eliminates this energy loss from the start.
Hoppers
All drying hoppers are made of stainless steel. The thick-walled thermal insulation also covers the cone area; the heat stays in the hopper. Standard hopper sizes: 3 / 10 / 25 / 40 / 60 liters · 100 / 150 / 200 / 350 liters · 400 / 500 / 600 / 700 / 900 liters · 1,200 / 1,500 / 2,000 / 2,500 liters · 3,000 / 3,500 / 4,000 / 5,000 liters.
Redundancy
The second gain of the modular design is redundancy: when one module is out of service the whole system does not stop, and production continues with the other modules. In central drying, the risk of a single point of failure is spread in this way.
Additive vapor filter
An additive vapor filter can be added to the system. It reduces the evaporation of additives in the granulate and their build-up in pipes and hoses; details are on the additive filter page.
Adsorption honeycomb
The moisture is removed from the drying air in an adsorption honeycomb. Because the honeycomb is regenerated continuously, the dew point stays constant at the set value. Rotor technology keeps the air dust-free. The system requires no compressed air or cooling water.
