Drywell beside-the-machine dryers are used to dry granulate right beside the processing machine. Because their footprint is small, they fit easily into the floor plan of injection molding and extrusion lines.
Double-wall insulated hopper
Both the inner surface of the drying hopper in contact with the granulate and the outer housing are stainless. Thick-walled thermal insulation is placed between the two shells. The insulation keeps the process heat inside the hopper and stops it escaping to the surroundings. This has two consequences: energy consumption falls and the temperature distribution inside the hopper stays even.
Hopper volumes
In the mobile version, hoppers of 3, 10, 25, 40, 60 liters and 100, 150, 200, 350 liters are offered on casters. Larger volumes are installed on an industrial steel frame: between 400 and 900 liters and between 1,200 and 2,500 liters.

The energy side
The system requires no compressed air or cooling water. Drying's share of a plant's energy consumption is higher than is generally thought; we cover the subject with figures in our energy consumption and savings article.
Adsorption honeycomb
The moisture is removed from the drying air in an adsorption honeycomb. Because the honeycomb is regenerated continuously, the dew point stays constant at the set value. Rotor technology keeps the air dust-free. The system requires no compressed air or cooling water.
