Digicolor Hot Air Dryer

Hot air dryers are used for preheating and surface drying of plastic granulate. They can be operated centrally or directly beside the processing machine; the footprint is small.

How it differs from a dry air dryer

Its design is simpler than a dry air dryer: it heats ambient air and passes it continuously over the material. The moisture is not removed from the air. It is therefore suitable for plastics with low sensitivity to moisture; for moisture-absorbing (hygroscopic) materials a dry air dryer is needed.

You can put the distinction simply like this: if the moisture is inside the granule, dry air is essential; if it is on the surface, hot air is enough. We explain which material falls into which group in our raw material drying article.

Return air valve circuit

For energy savings there is a return air valve circuit: it can be operated as an open circuit or a closed circuit. In the closed circuit the heated air is reused rather than being exhausted. This circuit is standard from a 1,500 liter hopper upwards.

Hopper volumes

Hoppers of 100 / 200 / 300 / 400 / 600 / 800 liters can be made mobile. Hoppers of 1,500 / 2,000 / 2,500 / 3,000 / 3,500 liters are installed on an industrial frame; they can optionally be equipped with a platform, railing, ladder and rear guard.
