Titan Plus is the largest granulator in the Goliath series. It is used in plants that produce large-volume plastic products, for recovering bulky reject parts.
Granulating large parts has two challenges: getting the part into the cutting chamber and preventing the rotor from blocking. Titan Plus meets them with two design solutions. The hopper mouth is wide and can be equipped with the MASHER feeding system for bulky parts; the ABS system, meanwhile, prevents the rotor from blocking.
Cleaning
The housing has a double parting line. On a large machine cleaning time means downtime directly; this split speeds up access to the cutting chamber.
Polycarbonate and similar materials
The heat released during granulating causes problems with some materials. For heat-sensitive materials such as polycarbonate, the water cooling option can be used.
Why slow speed?
High-speed blade mills break the material up by impact; this produces heat, noise and dust. The toothed roller design cuts the material at low speed. The result is quieter operation, markedly less dust and a more uniform granule size. If you are going to return the granulated material to production, these three points are reflected directly in your part quality.
Life of the cutting elements
The combs, counter-combs and pre-cutters are designed to be reversible: when one face wears, it is removed and turned round so that its second face is used. In practice this doubles the life of the cutting elements. If you process abrasive material, a wear resistant coating option is available for the cutting elements.
