Hinged Bolt Clamp (Gelenkbolzenschelle)

Fixing conveying and vacuum hoses is done most easily and quickly with hinged bolt clamps (Gelenkbolzenschellen). A more economical alternative is worm drive clamps (Schneckengewindeschellen).

Available in 9 different diameter ranges (39 – 130 mm) and in galvanized steel.

The practical benefit of the hinged design

A hinged clamp opens on one side and, after taking in the tube, closes on the opposite side with a bolt. Its difference from standard two-part clamps is that the parts do not come apart during installation. When working at height or in a tight niche, a dropped half clamp or bolt is a serious loss of time; the hinged design removes that risk.

Where it is preferred

• Lines along ceiling and roof routes
• Hard-to-reach points that require scaffolding or a platform
• Line sections likely to be taken apart and reconnected later
• Installations done by one person

The tightening rule is the same

Being hinged does not change the tightening discipline. Overtightening deforms the tube cross-section, and undertightening allows vibration. The distinction between fixed and sliding points for thermal expansion applies here too.

An advantage in maintenance

When a tube section has to be taken apart during line maintenance, the hinged clamp opens by loosening the bolt and the clamp stays hanging on the rail. On reassembly there is no problem of looking for parts — this is a small but recurring gain in plants that do planned maintenance.
