Vacuum lines, like material lines, are needed for setting up a central material feeding system. Vacuum lines are mostly made of aluminum and are installed in diameters of 100 mm / 150 mm / 200 mm as required. Special executions and cross-sections are also possible.
For this reason Michel Tube's portfolio includes standard parts for setting up a central vacuum line; these parts can be combined with one another like a building block (Baukasten) system. Special executions / special sizes are also possible on request.
This product is the system's 90° bend (Winkel); it is supplied in aluminum, in the 3 different diameter × wall thickness combinations available (Ø 100.0×2.0 / 150.0×3.0 / 200.0×5.0 mm).
The role of a bend in the vacuum line
Vacuum lines are the second leg of a central feeding system: while the material line carries the granulate, the vacuum line distributes the system's drawing power. Because no material passes through it, the wear load is low and aluminum is therefore sufficient. Diameters are chosen as 100, 150 or 200 mm as required.
Why a ready-made bend
Bending the tube on site leads both to cross-section deformation and to roughness on the inner surface. A ready-made 90° bend keeps the cross-section and holds the flow resistance low. On the vacuum side every additional resistance means a direct loss of draw; on long lines, as the number of bends rises, the effective capacity of the pump falls.
Watch points in line design
- Reduce the number of bends as far as possible; every bend adds a pressure loss
- Do not connect two consecutive bends directly to each other; leave a straight distance between them
- Choose the diameter according to the total length of the line; a thin diameter falls short on a long line
