Mounting Material

Mounting rails are generally used as the substructure (Unterkonstruktion) in pipeline construction. The rails are available in different executions (flat, standard, double) and are fixed to the building. The pipelines are laid on the rails offset by 90° and are installed by screwing them with cable clamps.

3 different executions are available: Double (Height: 41.2 mm), Single (Height: 20.6 mm), Single (Height: 41.3 mm). Material: galvanized steel.

The line's invisible carrier

A pipeline does not carry itself. Mounting rails form the line's substructure (Unterkonstruktion): they are fixed to the building, and the tubes are attached on top of the rails with 90° clamps. There are different executions — flat, standard and double — and they are chosen according to the route.

The chain caused by insufficient fixing

This is the most underestimated subject in line installation, and its result shows up late. A poorly fixed line vibrates during operation; the vibration loosens the connection points; false air enters through the loosened connection; the conveying capacity falls. The operator looks for the problem at the pump, whereas the source is the installation.

Correct fixing rules

• The support spacing is determined by the tube diameter and material; aluminum tube is supported more frequently than stainless
• An allowance must be left for thermal expansion; if the line is locked completely between fixed points, it is strained when the temperature changes
• Elbows and branch points must be supported separately; the dynamic load is high there
• Couplings do not carry a load — see tension relief elements

Planning

The fixing points should be determined while the line is being designed. Adding them later usually means dismantling part of the line.
