Sliding Stop Mounting Kit

The Sliding Stop Mounting Kit prevents control units stacked on top of each other from sliding.

When more than one control unit is positioned one on top of another, the upper unit can slide because of vibration and the pull of the cables. This kit keeps the units fixed in relation to each other.

Kit contents: 4 plastic plates, screws and a drilling template — there is no need to take separate measurements for installation.

The risk of stacking

When more than one control unit is positioned one on top of another, floor space is saved, but a new risk arises: the units can slide on top of each other. There is vibration on the mold shop floor, horizontal force is applied when cables are plugged into and out of the units, and over time the upper unit creeps towards the edge.

What it does

The sliding stop mounting kit mechanically locks the stacked units to one another. Horizontal movement is prevented; the stack stays stable against the forces applied while cables are plugged in and out.

Why it should not be neglected

A falling control unit causes two separate kinds of damage: the equipment itself is damaged, and at the moment it falls a serious occupational safety incident arises for anyone nearby. Stacking is a common practice because it saves space; however, doing it without fixing the units is a common shortcoming.

Installation notes

• The stack height should be kept within reasonable limits; stacking more than two units is mechanically demanding
• The floor on which the bottom unit stands must be level
• Care must be taken not to cover the ventilation grilles — in units standing on top of each other the internal temperature tends to rise
• Access to the units' screens and buttons must not be obstructed
