GRAVIMIX is the gravimetric dosing brand of the Dutch company Ferlin Plastics Automation. It builds systems that control the ratio of color, masterbatch, additives and regrind by weighing.
Volumetric dosers measure volume. When the granule size, bulk density or regrind ratio changes, the same volume corresponds to a different weight and the recipe ratio drifts. Gravimetric systems weigh every dose; the ratio stays constant even when the material changes.
In practice this means: with volumetric dosing a safety margin is usually left so that the ratio does not drift — in other words, more masterbatch than necessary is added. This excess is a cost paid quietly all year long. Because a weigh-based system removes this margin, the investment pays for itself in a short time.

The first three series are mounted on the machine; the FGB series are central batch blenders that prepare batches.
