GRAVIMIX NECS — 50 kg/h, 4 Components

The most compact gravimetric dosing unit in the range. With a capacity of 50 kg/h and recipe support for up to 4 components, it is used on small and medium scale machines. It mounts directly on the machine throat and takes up no floor space.

Who it is right for

NECS is designed for plants moving their dosing to a gravimetric system for the first time and for machines with low consumption. 50 kg/h covers the large majority of small and medium tonnage injection molding machines.

If your recipe consists of a single masterbatch or two components, there is no point in paying for a higher component capacity — every additional component means its own chamber, dosing valve and calibration.

The advantage of mounting on the machine

The unit sits directly on the feed throat of the machine. This removes the risk of separation of the dosed mixture on its way to the machine. Components of different densities can separate from one another when they are conveyed over a long line; with dosing on the machine there is no such distance.

It also requires no separate floor area — in tight spacing between machines this can be decisive.

Approaching the capacity limit

Running the unit continuously at its nominal capacity is not recommended; the peak consumption of the machine has to be taken into account and some margin left. A dosing unit working at the capacity limit becomes unable to feed when the cycle speeds up, and the ratio shifts.

Color change

The EasyClean design allows dismantling without tools. In plants that change color frequently, the cleaning time is a cost item independent of the technical specifications of the unit; the subject is covered in the article on color and material change.

Calibration

On the NECS, calibration is the determination of the relationship between the dosing time and the quantity actually delivered, for each component. When the raw material changes, this relationship changes too — a material with a different granulate size and bulk density gives a different weight in the same time. When moving to a new raw material, renewing the calibration is the simplest way to prevent the ratio shifting.
