MOVAC Central Material Conveying
MOVAC is the material conveying brand of the Dutch company Ferlin Plastics Automation. It builds vacuum systems that carry granulate from the storage point to the machines in plastics processing plants.
What a central system delivers
As production grows, manual feeding at the machine creates three problems: labor, contamination and moisture. When feeding from open containers, the material picks up dust, hygroscopic material takes moisture back in, and the operator has to carry material constantly.
In a central system, vacuum is generated at a single source and distributed to all machines through the line. Because there is no separate motor per machine, the number of noise sources, maintenance points and electrical connections goes down.

What decides the system design
The most common mistake in capacity calculation is choosing an oversized pump by adding up the capacities of all the loaders. What decides is simultaneity — how many points will draw material at the same time. Distance, number of elbows and material type also directly affect the line design; glass-fiber material requires wear-resistant pipes and elbows.
