The standard flow types (free fall, pipeline, conveyor belt) cover most needs. Some processes, however, do not fit those three patterns: the flow is very small, the product is very viscous, the environment is aggressive, or the separation has to be done to laboratory accuracy. The solutions on this page fill that gap.
The magnetic bar is in fact the common building block of all separators. Supplied on its own, it can be adapted to existing equipment: placed at a hopper mouth, above a screen or inside a custom-built housing. The diameter, length, magnet type and surface material are determined by the application. That flexibility becomes the only solution where a standard separator physically does not fit.
If any of the following conditions apply, a special design should be considered instead of a standard product: limited space, high temperature, an aggressive chemical environment, an ATEX requirement, an unusual connection size, or an expectation of high accuracy at a very low flow rate.
If you are not sure which group your application falls into, it is enough to share the flow type and the product characteristics; we can determine the right solution together. The complete range is on the metal separation systems page.
For a special solution, the flow type, the flow rate, the product characteristics (viscosity, temperature, abrasiveness), the connection dimensions of the existing equipment and any hygiene or ATEX requirements should be shared. Once this information is clear, it is quickly decided whether to proceed with a standard product or with a custom build.
With special solutions the most reliable method is a trial with the real material. When the magnetic behavior and the flow characteristics are assessed on a product sample, the accuracy of the assumptions made at the design stage is seen from the start. This step prevents the majority of the surprises that would otherwise appear on site.
