The DKM DFS series are 6th generation low-inertia thin-wall injection molding machines, the product of 5 years of R&D work. Thanks to low inertia and the QGL single cylinder design, they meet the need for high speed injection while also lowering the machine cost and the energy consumption.

For thin-wall food packaging production, the combination of the DFS series + IML (In-Mold Labeling) technology: a high efficiency, high quality, fast production line.
On work other than thin-wall packaging, the high speed equipment of the DFS can remain more than is needed. To find the one that suits your application you can look at the range of 12 injection molding machine series.
As the wall gets thinner, two things happen at the same time: the flow resistance rises rapidly and the cooling time gets shorter. While the time the melt needs to reach the furthest point of the mold grows longer, the time in which it can reach it grows shorter. Beyond a certain point this gap becomes wider than a standard machine can close, and the part stays short.
The DFS series is therefore built around high injection speed and a rapid pressure rise.
Most thin-wall packaging is produced with IML: the label is placed in the mold and molded together with the part. This requires robot integration and a very short cycle; the repeatability of the machine becomes critical, because the smallest deviation in the label position produces scrap.
The cavity pressure required on thin-wall parts is high; this raises the tonnage requirement even when the projected area is small. Making the calculation with the clamping force tool is far more reliable than estimating by eye.
On work other than thin wall, the speed equipment of the DFS remains more than is needed and raises the investment unnecessarily. For general purpose production the SV series is more suitable.
