DKM LEAN Series — Low-Inertia (IMM Low Inertia) Injection Technology (90-3350 Tons)

Setting a new standard for precision and efficiency in plastic injection molding, IMM Low Inertia Injection Technology is a revolutionary innovation in the sector. By reducing the weight of the moving parts, and therefore their inertia, it improves the response time of the machine and increases injection precision and production capacity.

How Does IMM Low-Inertia Technology Work?

The inertia is lowered by reducing the weight of the moving parts of the injection unit, such as the storage motor. The result: faster response, higher injection precision, lower energy consumption.

Key Advantages

  • Shorter cycle time — fast acceleration/deceleration → high production capacity
  • Superior response time — fast and precise response to control commands
  • Energy efficiency — minimized power consumption, cost saving
  • High precision and consistency — defect-free, quality parts
  • User-friendly interface — easy parameter configuration and monitoring
  • Sustainable production — environmentally friendly

Operational Benefits

Defect-free plastic part production with high accuracy and consistency thanks to advanced control algorithms. The energy efficient design provides environmentally friendly production and a reduction in cost. Seamless integration with existing injection molding machines, fast installation, minimum interruption.

Fields of Application

  • Automotive industry
  • Electronic components
  • Packaging sector
  • Precision engineering
  • Plastic parts with complex geometry

Low inertia makes a noticeable difference in energy consumption over long operating hours. If you want to compare LEAN with the other drive types, the drive comparison in the injection molding machine range makes the job easier.

What low inertia means

As the moving mass falls, the energy required to accelerate and stop that mass falls as well. This is the design logic of the LEAN series: by lowering the inertia of the moving parts, both the response time is shortened and the energy consumption is reduced.

Its effect is seen most in short cycle production; as the number of accelerations and decelerations per cycle grows, the inertia difference grows in total.

The gain on the energy side

Low inertia adds to the saving that servo drive already provides. In a plant working three shifts the sum of these two effects makes a noticeable difference in the annual electricity cost. To calculate with your own figures you can look at the article on energy consumption and saving.

A wide tonnage band

The 90–3,350 ton range makes LEAN usable from small technical parts to high volume production. This breadth provides operational convenience for plants that want to work with the same control logic at different tonnages — operator training and spare part management stay under one roof.

Alternatives

If electric pre-plasticizing is the priority, DH; if all-electric precision is required, FE; for general purpose production SV can be considered.
