Pressmag FP — Waterproof Magnetic Clamping Plate
Pressmag FP is a magnetic mold clamping plate whose contact surface is 100% waterproof. It is designed for washdown areas, for plants with a risk of cooling water leakage and for damp production environments.

Why does being waterproof matter?
Inside a magnetic plate there are coils and electronics. Water leaking from the mold cooling circuits, or moisture entering during washdown, causes permanent failure if it reaches the inside of the plate. IP68 protection is at a level that withstands the plate standing in water for 24 hours under 9 bar of pressure.
The 7 mm cover thickness brings a second advantage: the cover, which wears through the friction and impacts of the mold face, lasts far longer than a standard 2.8 mm one.

The three features that set FP apart
IP68 waterproof contact surface (9 bar / 24 hours) — mold cooling water leakage, cleaning and moisture are the best-known enemies of a magnetic plate. The contact surface of the FP is sealed against these conditions.
7 mm cover — instead of the standard 2.8 mm, the thick cover provides resistance to mechanical impact and to the mold being slid into place.
Continuous force monitoring with a pole flux sensor — the plate does not only clamp, it continuously measures and reports the clamping force. If the force drops the system warns you; in safety terms this makes a clear difference compared with working blind.
Why there is no oil line
The electro-permanent design requires no energy to hold the force and contains no hydraulic line. That means the leakage risk and the hydraulic maintenance disappear. The 1 million cycle life comes from this simple construction.
Who is it suitable for
Plants with a wide variety of molds, working in damp or wet environments and wanting to monitor the clamping force. Because it needs no mold-specific preparation, different backplate geometries are not a problem.
