ECA Pull Clamp Cylinders in 5 models — backed by Teknik Part's assurance and technical support.
5 modelsECA Pull Clamp Cylinder — ECA-100-22-XX. 100 kN, 22 mm stroke, single-acting hydraulic QDC clamping cylinder.
The ECA series are single-acting hydraulic QDC (quick die change) clamp cylinders. They fix the mold to the machine platen by pulling it from its backplate.

In the model code the first number gives the cylinder size and the second the clamp dimension. For choosing the model that suits your application, the backplate thickness of the molds to be clamped and the required clamping force are decisive.
In single-acting cylinders the hydraulic pressure is applied only in the clamping direction; the return happens by spring force. This simplifies the hydraulic circuit and reduces the number of hoses.
For higher force or non-flat surfaces see the MHC series.

ECA cylinders work single-acting: hydraulic pressure is applied in the clamping direction, and releasing happens by spring or external force. That means a simpler hydraulic circuit — fewer lines, fewer connections, easier installation and fewer leakage points.
The most frequent reason the ECA is chosen is that it can be added to existing machines afterwards. Its ability to accommodate different backplate thicknesses makes work easier in plants with a varied mold park. It is often chosen as the first step in moving to quick mold clamping.
On vertical presses the mold weight acts directly downward; the clamping element has to carry that load safely. The ECA is designed for this geometry and, with its compact body, takes up little room on the platen.
| ECA | MHC | |
|---|---|---|
| Construction | Single-acting | Pull clamp, wide force band |
| Surface | Flat backplate | Also conforms to non-flat surfaces |
| Force | Medium | 40 – 250 kN |
| Cost | More economical | Higher |
If your mold backplates are true, the ECA is sufficient. The series consists of 5 models; the force and dimension table is below.
